The purpose of this blog is to record some moments from the progress and memories of my time this upcoming year as a Teaching Assistant in the Académie de Lille. Though I haven't gotten there quite yet so there isn't much to report at the moment.
I'm still waiting on my arrêté de nomination which will give me the all-important details on which schools I've been placed at. I don't even know where within the province of Lille I'll be, what towns I might be close to (and possibly able to commute from), or even what grade levels I'll be working with. So there's been a lot of sitting and waiting and just not knowing much of anything about what I'll be faced with in a couple months time. Oh, and the arrêté is what allows me to apply for a work visa..so I really want it to get here!
Most assistants receive their arrêtés in the month of July and we're not permitted to inquire about the state of our arrêté until Aug 15, so it's not like I'm pressed for time, but I really just want to know! So I hope it gets here soon..
On a side note, I'm not thrilled with the background of the blog, and want to switch it out for a photo once I get there, but for the time being, this is what it'll be. Or maybe I'll see if I can dig up a picture from when I was in France two years ago that could work temporarily.
